Rivey is 1!!

I can't believe my baby is one. I guess he isn't much of a baby anymore. He is taking lots of steps and being naughty. I love him more than anything and I am so grateful he is apart of our family! I figured I would list my 12 favorite things about Rivers, one for each month he has been apart of our family.

12. I love how you throw your bottle as far as you can when you are done drinking it.

11. (I don't love that you are the pickiest eater alive) I do love how you wave your hands back and forth when we put something in your mouth that you don't like.

10. I love to hear you say words and I love how you yell when we clap our hands and say yeah! Its like you are proud of yourself too.

9. I love how you love music and you clap your hands when we start singing if your happy and you know it clap your hands.

8. I love your bird lip

7. I love your brown eyes

6. I love how you get so excited when you see someone you love come in the room.

5. I love it when you are tired and you want to cuddle with me and hold your blanket and play with the yarn on it when you suck your thumb.

4. I love how you see your blanket on the floor and you will crawl and face plant into it and talk gibberish into it.

3. I love that you are happiest when you are outside or when you making a mess. I never knew you could be so cute covered in dirt.

2. I love that you stay in the bath so long you get all wrinkled. You love your bath more than most things!

1. My most favorite thing about you Riv is your gap the size of another tooth in between your two front teeth. It produces the cutest smile ever! I LOVE you turtle and i hope you have a happy birthday!

What in the world?!

cutest baby in the world!
Riv in his beanie
Rivers playing in one of the many boxes of stuff coming for our house.

I guess everyone that has experience in remodeling a home will tell you it takes longer than expected and it is also more stressful than expected. I never thought picking out paint would be much more difficult then picking out flooring. However We are loving the way our home is shaping up and we should be moved in by the second or third week in Nov. We are finishing up painting next week, flooring goes in on the 6th and after that it should be smooth sailing. We will do landscaping and painting in the spring as well as fixing up the backyard by the pool.

Rivers is getting so old. He isn't my little baby anymore. It makes me so sad. He is moving around everywhere. He is so close to walking. He can say mama dada ba for ball dah for dog ca or tah for cat and he tries really hard to say Jesus. It ends up sounding like cheeses. He is such a funny little boy and he is so much fun. I must say the older he gets the more baby hungry I get but I assume that's natural. He likes to see how far he can go without getting told no no. He usually ends up doing what we were discouraging him to do. Its funny because after we say baby no, no he always laughs after he has done what we've told him not to do. We love our Rivey and he makes us laugh everyday. Thats all from here but we hope to have pictures of our house up soon!

Montana

Ha! We went to Montana back in July and I am just posting pictures. It as always is our favorite trip and it was even better this year because we were able to take along my little sister Haylee and of course having Rivers there. Rivers loved being with all the cousins and it was a blast being at the ranch and going up to Glacier. The weather was amazing and of course our family skit night, softball tournaments and hiking made the trip amazing. Here are some of the highlights of our trip. These pictures are backwards.

River and his closest cousin Rhett. He is 7 months older than Rivers. He was born at 2 lbs so he is small for his age and OBVIOUSLY Rivers is large for his age.

Rivers did awesome on the plane. He slept more of the way

Home

We bought a house and we are thrilled about it. We hopefully will be moved in by Oct 1st, that is if we can get all the flooring put in, paint up, wall built, doors hung, baseboards on and a million other projects. Our first project is done, the pool fence. I will post before pictures soon and hopefully after pictures in a month!

July Happenings

We were able to go up to Stu's uncle Dave and aunt Nancy's cabin for the 4th of July. We had a great lunch and were able to do a few fun things there before it started to rain and even hail. They have some fun swings, a fish pond, a zip line and they brought some horses up. Riv got to go on his first horse ride. It was so cute and he LOVED it.

Riv and Stu watching the rain

my mom bought this cute birthday hat from the orange patch and it is adjustable to fit any size!!! Rivey loves it. Also there is a pocket inside with more candles to put on top.

We were able to go see Wicked. I love plays and I have to say this was one of my favorites for sure. If you haven't seen it, it is a must see.

hooray for wicked

Here is Rivers with his best buddy Carson. Riv was giving him a baby massage on the shoulders.

I love it when my baby is all clean and in his monster towel!

Rivey

Rivers is getting HUGE! He loves to pound down his rice cereal and drink lots of bottles. He is so much fun. He has mastered rolling over, squealing and sleeping through the night! He loves to be outside in his stroller and loves church. Here are some pictures my brother Ryan snapped yesterday and a picture of my sister and me and Riv on Easter.

My reason for being a horrible blogger

Rivers is almost 4 months. He is such a joy to have as my little sidekick. I love being a mom and wouldn't trade all the tired days for anything. He is growing so fast. We weighed him at my mom's work last week and he was 15 lbs 8 oz. He continues to makes us laugh every day. Last Sunday we had him in primary with us and one of the classes were doing their sharing time. They were playing a game and being quite loud and we don't know if it was the vibration of the microphone but Riv started belly laughing. We have heard him giggle before but this was a belly laugh and for almost 20 minutes straight. Stu had to take him out because he got our whole primary going. I love this little baby more than anything!

He fell asleep in his swing

my brother heath got him this Steve Nash jersey for Riv for Christmas. It is still way too big but Stu wanted to try it on him.

Look at that deliciousness.

Cowboy Riv

All I can say is that I love that my brother is a photographer and that I have a baby. When Ryan gets a new lens or something exciting he is always wanting to try it out on someone. Who better than Riv. Here are some he took last night. Oh and he wasn't naked he had a diaper on. Also he is so chubby he kinda looks like he needs a bra. I love him and all of his chubby self. Also We buzzed his head. His new hair was growing in and all of his old, long hair was falling out so we made him go from old man baby to cute buzzed baby. Oh how we LOVE our baby Riv!

Family Pictures

The other day my brother Ryan took our family pictures. We wanted to get some done before Heath left for his mission. We decided since we were all dressed and Rivers hadn't ruined his outfit yet that we would take our family pictures as well. Ryan did a great job! We loved how they turned out!

Heath and Riv. Heath left to the MTC last tuesday. It was bitter, sweet. We love him so much and will miss him a ton but he will be the best missionary. The people of Halifax are so lucky to have him for two years.
